Merry & Bright

When the weather starts getting grey I get out the Christmas decorations. I don’t care what month it is, if its gloomy outside, I want merry & bright inside! 😁🎄 Thankfully {for this sunshine loving girl} it’s been a more mild winter here in Savannah. That didn’t stop me from bringing a few strands of lights to my husband’s work and hanging up some cheer, though! ☃💗

This simple sketch of two retro Christmas bulbs in love is a fan favourite. I probably sell this card more than any other! Do you have a special someone lights up your life with cheer? Halloween Prayer Bookmarks

Header

I love praying for my neighborhood – especially the children that live there! While I do not celebrate Halloween, it’s an opportunity to meet all the little ones I’ve been praying for – they literally come knocking at my door! 😊 It’s a wonderful evening to be a light where God has placed you!

To encourage the families in my neighborhood I’ve created bookmarks – you can hand them out on their own or attached to goodies! On one side there is a fun animal fact. The opposite side says “Our family prayed for your family!” and the verse “O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Psalm 104:24” 💕

I’ve also made a small sign that you can put in your window or place outside your door. It reads, “Thanks for dropping by! Please let us know if we can pray for you!” It’s a beautiful way to open the door to building relationships with your neighbors!

A Prayer for Your Neighborhood

I asked Christian author {and my mother-in-law!}, Julie K. Gillies, to write a prayer for the children in our neighborhoods! In addition to assembling your treats and waiting by the door, pray these blessings over the kids in your community!

Dear Lord, I pray Your blessing over every child who comes to my door today. Lord, stir their hearts and reach out to them. Bring godly friends into their lives and put books and materials into their hands that will lead them to You. May each child who comes to my door tonight come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let them walk in light, embrace Your truth, and experience Your love for themselves. May they know their future is in Your hands (Psalm 31:15), and always take delight in You, Lord (Psalm 37:4). Let them understand what is just, right, and fair, and find the right way to go (Proverbs 2:9). May wisdom enter their hearts and knowledge fill them with joy (Proverbs 2:10). May wise choices watch over them and understanding keep them safe (Proverbs 2:11).  Lord, show them Your unfailing love in wonderful ways (Psalm 17:7a) all the days of their lives.

It is in the precious name of Jesus that I ask these things, knowing You are good and You are able, Amen.

I love praying for my neighborhood – especially the children that live there! I understand why most Christians don’t enjoy Halloween. However, in recent years it’s become one of my favourite days. It’s an opportunity to meet all the little lives I’ve been praying for – they literally come knocking at my door! 😊 It’s a wonderful way to be a light where God has placed you!

To encourage the families in my neighborhood I’ve created bookmarks – they’re great to hand out on their own or attached to goodies! On one side there is a fun animal fact. The opposite side says “Our family prayed for your family!” and the verse “O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Psalm 104:24” 💕 {If you’ve joined me in years past – I’ve updated my bookmarks! They now have brighter colours – less ink and more cheerful – and a new Bible verse!}

This year I’ve also made a small sign that you can put in your window or place outside your door. It reads, “Thanks for dropping by! Please let us know if we can pray for you!” This is a beautiful way to open the door to building a community with your neighbors and will help you know how to pray for them better!
